Customers Speak Up!

"I brought in my 20 year old Martin for a much needed overhaul - new frets, setup, fixing the bridge, putting in a new saddle. As someone who used to build guitars, I'm impressed with the quality of the work. The fret dressing is very well done. More smooth and comfortable than most stock jobs. I think this is the best this guitar has ever played. I'll definitely be back." - Joe B. (acoustic restoration)

"Just want to say thank you a billion for the work done on my PRS. The guitar plays and feels like new again. I am very pleased with it!!" -Rob P. (fret level & crown, setup)

"I just wanted to thank you for the amazing work you did on my guitar.  I was wondering what you used for polish.  I use the Gibson Guitar Polish but my guitar has never looked as clean as it did when it came out of your shop.... what polish do you use!!!!?" -Pete C. (new nut, setup - the polish is a "trade secret", but you can find it under recommendations)

Guitar Setup:

What & When

A setup is basically getting your guitar to play as well as it can without doing anything to change it structurally. This needs to be done whenever there are significant changes in humidity and temperature, when you change the string gauge or type, and when any moderate to major repair is done. It involves:

  • Truss-Rod Adjustment
  • Action Adjustment At The Bridge And The Nut
  • Setting Intonation
  • Cleaning The Fingerboard And Body
  • Correcting Tuner Tension

Should your instrument require additional work that would affect the setup, such as fret leveling, Brant will advise you of this and ask if you'd like to have it taken care of before work begins.
